The United Kingdom will donate 415,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to help the Philippine inoculation program.
“The UK is helping COVID-19 vaccines reach more countries. We’re donating 415,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to the Philippines so that more people here can get vaccinated,” British Ambassador Daniel Pruce said in a statement.
According to British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, the vaccine donation is part of the first batch of 100 million doses that they will deliver to poor countries worldwide.
Raab said the 9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including the donation to the Philippines, will be delivered this week. —TINA G. SANTOS
