OLONGAPO CITY––About 1,500 more residents here got vaccinated with the single-shot Janssen vaccine against COVID-19, as the city continued its mass vaccination drive Monday.
Only senior citizens and those with comorbidities were on the list of recipients of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccines.
It was the third consecutive day that the city administered the Janssen vaccines since the supply arrived here last week.
A total of 3.2 million Janssen vaccines were donated by the U.S government to the Philippines through the COVAX global vaccine pool.
The city alone received 7,800 shots of the J&J vaccine, according to the city health office.
To date, the city has inoculated at least 19,000 residents. Over 11,000 of them have been fully vaccinated.
Olongapo aims to vaccinate 70 percent of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
