CITY OF MALOLOS––Two residents drowned Wednesday in swollen rivers in Bulacan province, a belated report from the provincial disaster risk reduction and management office showed.

The fatalities were identified as Dean Lester Valencia, 7, of Paombong town, and Jonathan Erese, 24, of Marilao.

Valencia was reportedly left alone at their house in Barangay San Jose and went out swimming in a nearby river.

The current swept the boy away, causing him to drown. His body was found on the same day.

In Marilao, Erese was catching fish with his friends in Lambakin River when the current carried him into a deeper portion. Erese’s body was recovered July 27.
