BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar––The Eastern Samar provincial government will subject its employees to a random antigen test starting August after a returning overseas worker tested positive for the COVID-19 Delta variant.

Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone issued a memorandum reinstating a scaled-down workforce and the implementation of the random swab test scheme.

The memorandum also mandated employees showing symptoms of COVID-19 not to report for work and to isolate themselves.

As of July 27, Eastern Samar has 362 active cases of COVID-19.
