Cop patrol car, service vehicle of city health office from Calbayog survive blast, gunfires
TACLOBAN CITY––A police patrol car and a service vehicle of the City Health Office from Calbayog City in Samar survived an explosion and a series of gunfires on Tuesday.
A report from the municipal police of Pinabacdao, also in Samar, said the two vehicles were on their way to the Department of Health regional office in Palo town, Leyte, to pick up COVID-19 vaccines.
While traversing the national highway in Barangay Lale, Pinabacdao at 1 p.m., gunshots, followed by a loud explosion, occurred 20 meters away from the two vehicles.
No one was injured.
Police are still conducting their investigation.
The local police recovered a 24-feet 0.9 mm electric wire, a fired cartridge of 5.56 mm, and a makeshift shotgun made from PVC pipes.
