MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The Department of Health (DOH) has accredited the 30-bed quarantine facility of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) in Camp Julian Olivas in the City of San Fernando in this province, PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon disclosed Tuesday, July 27.
“We are glad to know that our quarantine facility has met the requirements imposed by the DOH. With this development, PRO3 will be able to address the needs of our personnel who have contracted the virus,” De Leon said in a statement.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed the isolation facility.
The DPWH also upgraded the drainage system of the flood-prone police regional camp in preparation for the rainy season.
De Leon said the construction of the quarantine facility and improvement of the canals was in line with the DPWH-Philippine National Police convergence program.
A total of 1,916 Central Luzon police officers have contracted COVID-19 since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 1,837 have recovered, while five have died. As of July 27, 74 cases remained active.
