COTABATO CITY––A village chief in Shariff Aguak town in Maguindanao province was gunned down in broad daylight Tuesday by unidentified gunmen.
Shariff Aguak police chief Major Radzak Musa said Ambadao village chair Badawi Kusain, 45, was ambushed around 1:30 p.m. near the welcome rotonda.
He was on his way home from the wedding of his son at the town center.
Kusain suffered multiple bullet wounds from a caliber .45 pistol that led to his death.
Rasul Sindi, Kusain’s nephew, who was then driving the vehicle for the barangay captain, survived the attack.
Musa said they were looking at rido or family feud as the trigger for the ambush of Kusain.
