DIGOS City, Philippines—The cadaver of a four year-old girl was recovered on Sunday, a week after she was swept by floodwaters in Balasiaw village in Kiblawan town, Davao del Sur, police said Monday.

Angela Salutan’s decomposing body was found in Barangay (village) Pocaleel, according to Senior Inspector Ferdinand Casiano, the Kiblawan chief of police.

He said the identity of the victim was ascertained through the clothes she was wearing as described by relatives after she disappeared.

In Matanao town, Davao del Sur, the dead woman found in Mal River in Barangay Manga on Friday remained unidentified and no one has come forward to claim the body, the provincial disaster management office said.
