Rainy weather to persist until Thursday – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Residents of the Ilocos Region and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan should brace on Tuesday for moderate to heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” which is being strengthened by two cyclones outside the Philippines, namely Typhoon Fabian (international name: In-fa) and Tropical Storm Nepartak, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

As of Monday afternoon, Fabian was heading toward China while Nepartak remained at the northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.

Pagasa said cloudy skies with scattered showers would persist over Metro Manila, Babuyan Islands and the provinces of Batanes, Abra, Benguet, Cavite, Batangas and Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, due to the habagat.

Chris Perez, senior weather specialist of Pagasa, said rainy weather might prevail in the capital region until Thursday.
