CEBU CITY — The Mandaue City government has launched a program to bring the vaccines closer to its residents, especially senior citizens.
“For those who cannot visit the vaccination sites, especially those who are weak, bedridden, or have disabilities, we will now be able to help them,” said Maria Vera De Jesus, chapter administrator of the Philippine Red Cross via Mandaue News’ Facebook page.
Lawyer Lizer Malate, chief of the Emergency Operations Center, said they aimed to visit all barangays.
However, anticipating the difficulty of maneuvering the bus in small barangays, they are now looking into areas that have a huge population of senior citizens and those with comorbidities.
“The purpose of this mobile vaccination clinic is to get closer to those who have difficulties accessing transportation, unable to leave their homes for some reasons, or are simply tired. They now have no excuse because we will be the one going to them,” Malate said.
