“The winner, together with his wife, were [dressed in] red when they went to claim their prize yesterday,” Rojas said.

According to Rojas, the winner, whom the PCSO refused to identify as part of its policy, has been playing the lottery for sometime.

On Valentine’s Day, he handed P20 to the neighborhood “kubrador” and picked the numbers corresponding to his birth date and that of his wife and son.

Rojas said the winner plans to invest his winnings in a business.

“He said he wants to buy a house and lot and go into the business of being a tiles contractor,” he added.

Meanwhile, one of the two winners of the Feb. 9 SuperLotto 6/49 draw also claimed her winnings yesterday.

Rojas said the lucky bettor was a 49-year-old married woman with two children from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Her jackpot winnings came to a total of P37.38 million.

“She started betting on the lotto less than a year ago and she only placed bets when the jackpot was big. She betted P60 on the birthdays of her family members,” Rojas said.

Apparently, her gamble paid off as the numbers she picked—28-25-12-7-3-14—were the ones which came up in the Feb. 9 draw. She shared the total jackpot of P74.76 million with one other winner.
