MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) said another 17 patients suffering from COVID-19 have died, pushing the death count to 26,891.
The deaths account for 1.76 percent of all the 1,530,266 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, which include 50,526 that remain active.
Of the active cases, 2.5 percent are severe and 1.5 percent are critical that are at higher risk for death. Meanwhile, 92.7 percent are mild, 1.74 percent are moderate, and 1.6 percent are asymptomatic.
The DOH reported deaths that are less than 100 since July 19. The average number of deaths reported from July 16 to 21 was 82. From July 9 to 15, the average number of fatalities logged by the health department was 95.
