Blocktimer shot dead outside radio station in Cebu City

CEBU CITY––A radio blocktimer was shot dead Thursday by a still-unidentified assailant outside radio station dyRB in Barangay Mambaling in this city.
Reynante “Rey” Cortes had just come out from the radio station when a gunman shot him at 8:57 a.m., said Cebu City Councilor David Tumulak, who has a radio program in the same station.
Cortes was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival, said his wife Kit, who is working in another radio station.
Tumulak said Cortes suffered gunshot wounds on his arm and chest.
“He was still conscious when he was transported to the hospital. I even urged him to not close his eyes,” Tumulak said.
