CITY OF MALOLOS — Rain spawned by the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, has slightly increased water elevation in Angat Dam in Bulacan province on Wednesday, data from the Bulacan provincial disaster risk reduction management council showed.

At 8 a.m. the dam’s water level rose to 185.54 meters above sea level (masl) from 185.49 masl the previous day. It was still way below the 212-masl spilling mark.

But the Bustos Dam below Angat Dam released water up to 156 cubic meters per second starting Tuesday until early Wednesday morning. Its elevation rose to 17.35 masl, which was above the 17.30-masl spilling level.

The discharge was stopped when the elevation settled at 17.28 masl.
