MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—The active COVID-19 cases in Aurora have gone down to 28 from 264 within a month, the latest data from the provincial emergency operations center showed Tuesday, July 20.
The provincial government had no record of new COVID-19 cases and deaths on Tuesday.
The province had registered 2,010 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Most of the cases were in the second quarter of 2021.
Of the total number, 1,907 had recovered, while 75 had died.
Twelve of the active cases are residents of Dipaculao town, eight from San Luis, five from the capital town of Baler, two from Dingalan, and one from Maria Aurora.
Through Gov. Gerardo Noveras’ executive order, Aurora will begin accepting tourists on August 1 from provinces and cities under general community quarantine (GCQ) without heightened restrictions and modified GCQ.
Tourists from these areas, however, will have to present negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction or swab test results before entering Aurora.
Fully vaccinated individuals are not exempt from this requirement.
