Woman pedestrian killed in Quezon highway mishap
LUCENA CITY—An unidentified woman pedestrian died after a truck hit her along the Maharlika Highway in Gumaca town in Quezon province early Wednesday.
A report from the Gumaca police said the victim was bumped by a Bicol-bound truck driven by Mark Anthony Cortez after she suddenly tried to cross the highway in Barangay Hagakhakin around 12:30 a.m.
The victim––45 to 50 years old, 5 feet in height, and wearing white shirt and black pants––died on the spot.
The truck driver was placed under police custody while the investigation continues.
