MANILA, Philippines — Those currently topping surveys for next year’s elections should no boast and just continue working as survey results can still change former senator and now Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero said Wednesday.

Escudero made the remark after he was asked about the chances of the tandem of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III in the coming presidential and vice-presidential race.

A Pulse Asia survey released this month showed Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio leading the field of presidential hopefuls while her father, President Rodrigo Duterte is leading in the survey list of vice presidential bets.

Sinuman ang mababa, marami pang mangyayari,” Escudero said at the Kapitan są Manila Bay forum.

Escudero is one of those returning to the Senate who Sotto said their tandem will be endorsing for the 2022 senatorial elections. Escudero is a member of the National People’s Coalition (NPC), of which Sotto is the chairperson.

“Magbabago at magbabago yan.

Escudero said that surveys as indicators of the election results will only become clearer around January or February.

On Tuesday night, Lacson announced that he will be running for president with Sotto as his vice president.
