MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in Metro Manila were not passable to light vehicles as floods hit various areas due to monsoon-induced rains brought by the weather disturbances, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Wednesday.
The MMDA said the following roads have a knee-deep flood hence not passable to light vehicles, as of 8:45 AM:
- Taft National Museum southbound
- UN Taft northbound, southbound
- Maria Orosa Taft northbound, southbound
Meanwhile, the MMDA said following roads have gutter-deep flood:
- A. Bonifacio Sgt Rivera
- Aurora Araneta
- E. Rodriguez Araneta northbound, southbound
- EDSA POEA southbound
- EDSA Boni southbound
- EDSA Ortigas split northbound
- EDSA J. Vargas northbound
- C5 Eastwood northbound, southbound
- C5 J. Vargas northbound, southbound
- C5 Ortigas southbound
- Roxas Blvd. Quirino Service Road
- Rizal Avenue Recto
- Roxas Blvd. Pedro Gil
- Bonifacio Drive 25th St. northbound, southbound
- Roxas Blvd. Kalaw southbound
The state weather bureau said Typhoon Fabian and severe Tropical Storm Cempaka enhanced the southwest monsoon or habagat, bringing rains in most parts of Luzon and Western Visayas.
An Orange Rainfall Warning has been raised in Metro Manila and Cavite, which means severe rainfall, deep floods and possible landslide.
