LEGAZPI CITY — Three alleged notorious illegal drug pushers were killed and P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) were was seized on Tuesday in a drug sting in Oas town in Albay province, a police report said Wednesday.

Police Colonel Arnold Santiago, Albay police chief, said the three illegal drug suspects resisted arrest and engaged the police operatives in a shootout at around 12:45 p.m. in Barangay (village) Busac.

Santiago, in a press statement, said one of the suspects, identified as Ramon Mutuc, was caught selling 10 grams of shabu worth P40,000 to an undercover agent.

Mutuc and his still unidentified companions, sensing that the drug transaction was an entrapment,  shot the approaching police operatives. This prompted the policemen to return fire,  killing Mutuc and his two still unidentified companions.

Recovered from the scene were 350 grams of shabu, two .38 caliber guns, a .45 caliber pistol, and the P40,000 marked cash used in the bust.

A police report said the suspects were on board a Toyota car to deliver the illegal drugs to Catanduanes province and the cities of Legazpi and Tabaco.
