Pagasa: Rainy Tuesday in Luzon, parts of the Visayas

/ 08:17 AM July 20, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of Luzon and Western Visayas are expected to have rainy weather on Tuesday due to the southwest monsoon or habagat, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Severe Tropical Storm Fabian, last spotted 1,035 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon, and an active tropical cyclone 960 kilometers west of extreme northern Luzon continue to strengthen the southwest monsoon, but will not directly affect the country’s weather conditions.

Fabian is set to exit PAR by Saturday, and is forecast to be expected to be in the vicinity of Taipei City, Taiwan.

“Ang nasabing mga bagyo o sama ng panahon ay walang direktang epekto sa anumang bahagi ng bansa ngunit patuloy itong nagpapalakas sa habagat na  siyang nagdadala ng pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon at lang bahagi ng kabisayaan,” Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said.

Pagasa said the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will experience monsoon rains, while Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan); and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country should expect fair weather conditions with possible of isolated rains and thunderstorms.
