Prices of diesel, gasoline continue uptrend
MANILA, Philippines — Pump prices of diesel continued to rise for the 14th week, this time by 30 centavos per liter, reflecting international prices in the run-up to a weekend meeting among the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and the group’s allies.
Prices of gasoline rose for the ninth consecutive week by 10 centavos per liter. Caltex raised prices at 12:01 a.m. followed by Petron, Shell, Seaoil, PTT, Total and Phoenix at 6 a.m.
Petron, Shell, Caltex and Seaoil also raised prices of kerosene by 30 centavos per liter.
Brent crude, the international benchmark, was pegged at $72.08 per barrel, down from $75.16 on July 12. Dubai crude, the Asian bellwether, was at $72.83 per barrel as of July 25, from $72.58 a week ago.
