CEBU CITY––The Cebu City Health Department (CCHD) has reminded vaccination centers in the city to follow the proper protocols in disposing of potential bio-hazardous wastes like syringes.

“We need to look into the reports that reached our office,” said Dr. Jefrey Ibones, head of the CCHD.

The CCHD had investigated the alleged improper disposal of COViD-19 vaccine syringes in an inoculation center in this city.

Photos of the improper disposal of wastes in a vaccination center made rounds on social media.

Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Ramil Ayuman said used syringes were thrown in biodegradable and non-biodegradable trash cans.
