MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is set to receive on Wednesday, July 21, more than 562,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech, Malacañang said.
“Inaasahan natin na sa Miyerkules, July 21, darating ang mahigit kalahating milyon o 562,770 doses ng Pfizer na ating binili,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Monday.
(We are expecting on Wednesday, July 21, the arrival of more than half a million or 562,770 doses of Pfizer that we procured.)
This is part of the 40 million Pfizer doses the national government secured in June, he added.

The Philippines has previously received at least 2.4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, but these were donated by the World Health Organization-led COVAX facility.
Just over the weekend, the country received 4.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines — 3.2 million doses of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine donated by the US government and 1.5 million Sinovac vaccines procured by the Philippine government.
As of July 18, 4.7 million Filipinos have already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the government.
