Village chief gunned down in Abra

BAGUIO CITY—A barangay captain in Bangued town, Abra province, was shot dead Monday by an unidentified assailant, authorities said.

Robert Villastiqui of Barangay Lubong was on board his motorcycle when the assailant shot him several times around 6: 20 a.m., investigators said.

Villastiqui suffered bullet wounds in different parts of his body.

Witnesses said the gunman wore a red long-sleeve shirt, black short pants, and a bull cap.
