Manila cops disarm grenade found in Port Area
MANILA, Philippines — Manila police officers disarmed a grenade that was found Sunday morning at the Port Area without its pin and lever.
A report from the Manila Police Department (MPD) said a pedicab driver informed police about the M26 fragmentation hand grenade that was seen inside a wooden pushcart at 13th Street corner Rail Road Street beside the office of The Philippine Star.
Operatives from the MPD’s Explosives and Ordnance Division (MPD-EOD) immediately responded to the scene at around 9:30 a.m. and performed an RSP or a “render safe procedure” that safely disarmed the grenade.
Police said the grenade’s lever was later located 11 feet away from where the grenade was found.
