Tricycle driver, passenger killed in Lucena shooting

LUCENA CITY – A tricycle driver and his passenger were shot and killed here before midnight on Saturday, police said Sunday.

Lucena police reported that residents in Purok (sub-village) Baybayin 2 in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay heard successive gunshots around 11 p.m.

Police discovered the dead bodies of still unidentified victims – driver is wearing short pants and a maroon t-shirt while the passenger has gray pants and a red-striped shirt – with fatal bullet wounds on their heads and bodies.

Investigators found seven bullet cases from caliber .45 gun at the crime scene.

The police are investigating the incident to establish the motive behind the killing and unmask the killer.
