Bohol grad ranks 6th in nursing board exam

TAGBILARAN CITY – A native of Calape town in Bohol ranked sixth in the Nursing Licensure Examinations (NLE) held earlier this month.

Neil Ruyeras Orehuela of the Holy Name University (formerly Divine Word College-Tagbilaran) had a rating of 88.

He shared the spot with Niña Loren Baja Cabuniag of the Cotabato Medical Foundation College, Anne Lauryn Cruz Lopez of the University of the Philippines-Manila, and Erica Mae Sta. Maria Ortiz of the University of Sto. Tomas.

Haydee Soriano Bacani of Philippine Women’s University Manila topped the board exam with a rating of 89.40.

In a Facebook post, Orehuela shared his ingredients for success.

“Never doubt yourself! Focus! You can do it!” This is what I have been telling myself for months. I can’t thank everyone enough for helping me believe that I can make it. I am forever grateful to all of you,” he said.

“Lord, thank you very much! I did it, guys!” he added.

The Professional Regulation Commission said 5,008 of the 7,746 who took the exams passed.

The examinations were conducted in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga from July 3 to 4, 2021.
