PNP to deploy female cops in kid zones
Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, the chief of the male-dominated Philippine National Police, wants more female police officers in all areas identified as “kid zones.”
Eleazar on Friday said he asked the police commanders that, if possible, female officers should be deployed in places where children aged 5 and older are allowed.
The PNP chief described female police officers as “more accommodating and patient when it comes to dealing with children.”
“We assure [the public] that your police officers will not be KJ (kill-joy), because we understand how much parents and children want to go out after more than a year in lockdown,” Eleazar said. —DEXTER CABALZA
