MANILA, Philippines — More than 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca arrived in the Philippines on Friday morning.
According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the flight carrying a total of 1,150,800 AstraZeneca vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10:10 a.m.
The doses were procured by local government units and the private sector, the National Task Force against COVID-19 earlier said.
The latest shipment brings the total number of AstraZeneca vaccine doses delivered to the Philippines close to 7 million, including the over 4 million doses from the COVAX facility and the 1 million doses donated by the government of Japan.
