Man kills wife, then found dead in Batangas all on Valentine’s Day

MANILA, Philippine — A man allegedly shot his wife and then was later found dead in Batangas on Valentine’s Day, police said.

Senior Inspector Liezel Dimaandal, spokesperson, said that Ria Labandila, 32, was shot by Joel Abalos Labandila, 33, inside their house in Barangay (village) Sto. Nino, San Pascual, Batangas around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Labandila fled after the incident onboard a Starex Van (WFC 542) but was later found dead inside the Batangas Bay Terminal Inc. in Barangay San Miguel, Bauan, with a gunshot wound on his head around 5:30 p.m. of the same day, Dimaandal said.

She said that authorities were conducting further investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting.
