SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—At least nine volcanic earthquakes were observed on Wednesday at Mt. Pinatubo, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs registered volcanic activities in the last 24 hours. Mt. Pinatubo remains on Alert Level 1 or low-level unrest.

A series of earthquakes were recorded at the volcano in the last three days.

But Phivolcs described these volcanic seismic activities as imperceptible or not easily noticed earthquakes that started in January this year.

Alert Level 1 was first hoisted over Pinatubo in March due to the frequency of the earthquakes. The volcano had been on normal status since 1996.
