166 cops sanctioned for administrative offenses
MANILA, Philippines — The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has sanctioned 166 policemen, including two high-ranking Philippine National Police officials, for various administrative offenses since March.
According to the Napolcom, 275 administrative cases involving 515 PNP personnel have been resolved since March.
“Out of the 166 police personnel who were imposed with disciplinary sanctions, 75 were dismissed from the police service; 48 were penalized with one rank demotion; and 43 were suspended,” said Vitaliano Aguirre II, Napolcom vice chair and executive director.
Among those dismissed from the service and demoted were two high-ranking PNP officials whom Aguirre did not identify.
