SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—Five new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in this free port, raising to 15 its active cases involving residents and government employees as of Monday (July 12).
Citing local virus data, Wilma Eisma, administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), said the new patients are aged 26-56. These include two residents, a guest worker and two SBMA employees.
So far, the SBMA has listed 327 infections since the virus penetrated this economic zone last year.
But Eisma said four of the virus-infected patients have already recovered from the viral disease on the same day. They include two children aged 2 and 5 years old.
Over 300 COVID-19 recoveries were also registered in the free port.
Its death toll remained at seven based on its data.
