MANILA, Philippines — The daily average of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has slightly decreased by 2 percent, OCTA Research said on Tuesday, adding that this indicates a “steady trend” in the region’s COVID-19 numbers.
According to OCTA Research in its latest report, the NCR had an average of 634 new COVID-19 cases. This is 2 percent lower than the past week’s daily average of 646.
OCTA added that in the past three weeks, the COVID-19 growth rate in the region has averaged -3 percent, indicating that the growth rate is nearly level or flat, or is neither increasing nor decreasing.
The reproduction rate in NCR was at 0.98, while the incidence rate was at 4.59 per day per 100,000.
The positivity rate remained at 6 percent over an average of 22,000 tests per day, said OCTA.
Of the local government units (LGUs) in the region, Caloocan City currently has the least incidence rate at 2.06 percent, with Makati having the highest rate at 8.80 percent.
“All the LGUs in the region have incidence rates below 10, which means all the LGUs are classified as moderate risk,” said OCTA Research.
OCTA added that eight of the LGUs (Caloocan, Marikina, Pateros, Valenzuela, Malabon, Quezon City, Manila, Navotas) are close to being classified as low risk with incidence rates lower than 5.
