8 more victims in C-130 crash identified

MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines has identified eight more Army troopers who were killed in the July 4 crash of a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in Patikul, Sulu.

The eight Army troopers were identified as Privates First Class Carlos Dapanas Jr., Keth Kane Alegarme, Marchi Bonzales and Philip Dante Camilosa; Cpl. Jay-ar Obenito; Privates Archie Barba and Carlos Jhun Paragua Jr; and Technical Sgt. Nelson Hadjiri.

Their remains were brought home to their respective families.

So far, 28 of 49 military personnel who died in the crash have been identified as the Philippine Air Force (PAF) continued its probe on the cause of the tragic mishap.

The AFP has yet to identify 21 other crash fatalities who were burned beyond recognition.
