4 SUV passengers yield illegal firearms, bullets in Batangas
LUCENA CITY—The police arrested Sunday four motorists found carrying illegal firearms in Laurel town in Batangas province.
The Laurel police reported Monday that village guards flagged down a Mitsubishi Pajero after its passengers violated a solid waste ordinance in Barangay Berinayan around 9 p.m.
The police said the vehicle with four passengers—Christopher Carlos, Leonardo Balboa, Roberto de Guzman, and Joshua Mosqueda, all residents of Berinayan—were found carrying a bag with four kinds of firearms and ammunition.
The authorities seized the guns that included a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .38 revolver, a caliber .9mm, all without serial numbers; a Micro UZI 9mm Para with serial number; assorted magazines and bullets for the firearms.
The police were conducting further investigation and jailed the suspects while awaiting charges.
