Motorcyclist dead in Batangas highway crash

LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle rider died after he hit a truck in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas early Sunday.

The Sto. Tomas police said Melvin Perez, 32, was traveling along J.P. Laurel Highway when he hit a truck driven by Vicente Andrade as it was about to cross the road in Barangay Poblacion 4 around 12:30 a.m.

Perez sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

The truck driver was placed under police custody.
