2 million doses of AstraZeneca arrive

Japan to ship 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines — The bulk of the AstraZeneca vaccines, which arrived on Friday, will be for individuals who got their first shot in May and June.

Of the 2 million AstraZeneca vaccines that came from the COVAX facility, 1.5 million will be allocated as second dose.

The remaining doses will be sent to regions with large populations belonging to A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (persons with comorbidities) priority groups.

The latest shipment brings the total AstraZeneca doses delivered to the Philippines to over 5.7 million, including the 1.1 million donated by the Japanese government on Thursday.
