2 riders dead, 2 injured in Batangas road mishaps
LUCENA CITY – Two motorcycle riders died in separate road accidents in Laurel and Nasugbu towns in Batangas on Friday night.
The Nasugbu police reported that Rogelio Corporal Jr., 37, rear-ended a parked dump truck in Barangay Aga at around 7 p.m.
The victim, who was wearing a crash helmet, hit the steel bar on the truck’s end that caused severe head injuries.
Corporal died while being taken to Apacible Memorial District Hospital, also in Nasugbu.
In Laurel town, Semiona Matienzo, 50, and her passengers, Ashley Matienzo and Julie Anne Orbita, were traversing a descending section of the road when their motorcycle lost its brakes and subsequently crashed into a ravine in Barangay Niyugan at around 7 p.m.
The three riders sustained serious injuries but Simeona died on the way to Dr. Ernesto Malabanan Memorial Hospital, also in Laurel.
The two back-riders are confined at the said hospital.
