2 more PNP personnel in Central Luzon infected with COVID-19

Two more personnel of the PNP in Central Luzon have been infected with COVID-19, raising to 42 its active cases as of Friday.

OLONGAPO CITY—Two more personnel of the Philippine National Police in Central Luzon have been infected with COVID-19, raising to 42 its active cases as of Friday (July 9).

According to the data from the health service of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the total number of infections among its workforce has already reached 1,806 since the pandemic broke out last year.

But at least 1,759 of these COVID-19 cases were already cleared of the viral disease, the latest of which were the two recoveries logged on Friday.

Most of these cases, including non-uniformed personnel, had contracted the virus while on duty.

The COVID-19 death toll of PRO3 remained at five, data showed.
