The table above from OCTA Research shows the COVID-19 data for LGUs outside NCR with the highest daily cases from July 2 to 8. OCTA Research has adopted the COVID Act Now ratings, which indicates that areas categorized as low risk are tagged as green, medium or moderate as yellow, high as amber, and very high as red.
MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila are declining again after a slight uptick in infections, the OCTA Research said Friday.
According to the independent research group, the average daily cases in Metro Manila from July 2 to 8 was 636, seven percent lower than the previous week.
“This means that the NCR is back on a slight downward trend after a slight uptick the past week,” OCTA said in its monitoring report.

The reproduction number in Metro Manila is 0.85. Reproduction number is the number of new cases estimated to stem from one positive case.
Nationwide, the reproduction number is 0.92. The country had an average of 5,321 daily new COVID-119 cases over the past seven days, also seven percent lower than the previous daily average.
Meanwhile, outside the capital region, Davao City saw a negative 26 percent growth rate of cases as it recorded an average of 241 daily cases and a reproduction number of 1.
OCTA said Iloilo City had a slight increase in new COVID-19 cases. ICU utilization remained very high for Davao and Iloilo cities at 95 and 94 percent, respectively.
Positivity rate, or the percentage of people who test positive among the individuals tested for coronavirus in a given period, was also very high in General Santos, Tagum, and Butuan, all of which had more than 20 percent positivity rates.
COVID-19 areas of concern outside Metro Manila are Davao City, Iloilo City, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Baguio City, and Tagum.
