MANILA, Philippines — A rainy Friday is expected in the Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.
In its Friday weather bulletin, Pagasa said the ITCZ will continue to affect the southern portion of the country, bringing rain showers, cloudy skies along with possible landslides and flash floods to affected areas.
“Maaari tayong magkaroon ng malakas na pag-ulan. Maaari itong magdulot ng mga pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa kaya pinapayuhang mag-ingat ang ating mga kababayan dito sa Visayas at Mindanao,” weather specialist Shelly Ignacio said.
(Strong rains are possible, which may cause landslides and flooding. Hence, the public is advised to take precautions.)
Meanwhile, the rest of the Luzon will experience slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, said Pagasa.
No low-pressure area (LPA) is seen over the next two to three days, Pagasa added.
