Pasay City free of virus deaths for 13 days

/ 05:10 AM July 08, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — Pasay City has recorded zero COVID-19 deaths for the past 13 days, based on data from the city epidemiology and disease surveillance unit from June 22 to July 5. Its streak, however, was broken by a single death on July 6 but was back to zero deaths on July 7. In June, the Pasay government recorded its longest streak of not recording any COVID-19 fatality for 15 days from June 3 to 17. Since June 1, Pasay has recorded six deaths due to COVID-19. Despite the downtrend in its COVID-19 cases, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano urged residents to observe minimum health protocols, such as wearing face masks and face shields and observing physical distancing.—DEXTER CABALZA
