2-hour fire guts warehouse of plastic, paint factory

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) A two-hour fire of a still unknown origin gutted the warehouse of a factory in Pasig City on Monday afternoon.

Fire Officer 2 Ernan San Agustin of the Pasig’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire struck the factory of Topboss Plastic Inc. at 2:45 p.m, destroying plastic rolls and sheets and tons of paint that the company intended to distribute in the market.

Topboss Plastic Inc. was situated in an industrial compound along Mabini Ave. in Barangay (village) Manggahan, Pasig City.

The fire has reached the third alarm, prompting the BFP to deploy 15 fire trucks to the area, said Sergeant Louie Abinales of the National Capital Region BFP.

Firefighters put out the fire at 4:17 p.m.

No casualty was recorded during the fire while an adjacent subdivision was spared.

“Firefighters quickly responded to the scene to confine the fire within the compound,” San Agustin said over the phone.

Arson investigators were still making an estimate of the damage to the company’s property while the cause of the fire was unknown.with a report from Danica Hermogenes, INQUIRER.net
