3 teenagers on motorcycle dead in collision with bus

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan—Three teenagers were killed when their motorcycle collided with a bus here late on Monday, according to police.

John Califlores, 17, driver of the motorcycle, was declared dead on arrival at Lungsod ng San Jose del Monte Hospital while his two companions—Ervin Tan, 17, and Christine Ongkingco, 14—died on the spot. All were residents of this city.

Police said the teeners were travelling at high speed along EVR Road at Barangay Bagong Buhay II around 11 p.m and were heading to Barangay Assumption when Califlores lost control of the motorcycle vehicle, causing them to crash into a Mayamy Trans bus.

Investigators said they were still confirming reports that the victims were intoxicated and involved in a drag race near the area before the accident.

The motorcycle reportedly had no headlight and that the victims were allegedly not wearing helmets, police also said.
