Tarlac logs 78 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths

WATCH: Police officer's ambush in Capas town caught on CCTVMABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) had infected at least 78 more people and killed five others in Tarlac, the provincial government reported on Monday, July 5.

Twenty-seven of the new patients are from the provincial capital of Tarlac City; nine from Concepcion town; seven each from Bamban and Paniqui; six each from Capas, Gerona, and Victoria; three from Camiling; two from La Paz; and one each from Anao, San Manuel, Mayantoc, Pura, and Ramos.

The oldest among the new cases is a 97-year-old woman from La Paz, who had no known exposure to a COVID-19 patient. The youngest is a 3-month-old baby from Tarlac City, who also had no known exposure to a COVID-19-positive person.

A 2-year-old boy exposed to a COVID-19 patient in Paniqui is also among the new cases.

Those who died from COVID-19 were a 67-year-old woman from Barangay San Carlos; another woman, 55, from Villa Bacolor; a man, 57, from San Rafael; another man, 59, from San Isidro, all of Tarlac City; and a 79-year-old resident from Culatingan, Concepcion.

Tarlac City has the most active cases at 485, followed by Capas at 106 and Gerona at 82. INQ
