MANILA, Philippines — Baguio City now allows the entry of tourists who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 without having to present a negative coronavirus test result.

The city government issued this notice in a Facebook post on Monday, with Baguio Tourism explaining that valid COVID-19 vaccination cards or certificates could serve as an alternative to a negative COVID-19 test result.

Vaccinated tourists will have to pre-register at visita.baguio.gov.ph, secure a QR-coded Tourist Pass, and undergo a mandatory triage upon arrival in the city.

The city government said this is allowed “for all ages but only for those from GCQ (general community quarantine) and MGCQ (modified general community quarantine) areas.”

Tourists are likewise reminded to still strictly observe health protocols.

The Baguio City government, however, noted that individuals are only considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The government’s pandemic task force has eased rules on the interzonal travel of fully-vaccinated persons, including senior citizens.

Interzonal travelers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are now only required to present proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination instead of COVID-19 test results.
