MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Monday that it arrested a suspected drug personality posing as a fake PDEA agent in Ormoc City, Leyte.
In a statement released Monday, PDEA director Gen. Wilkins M Villanueva identified the suspect as Ronaldo Galapin, a high-value targeted drug personality in Ormoc City, who reportedly poses as a PDEA agent in his illegal drug activities.
According to Villanueva, Galapin was arrested by joint operatives of the PDEA Regional Office VII and Ormoc City Police after an entrapment operation in Barangay Salvacion, Ormoc City at around 5:00 p.m., June 26.
Authorities confiscated seven transparent sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) weighing approximately eight grams, one caliber .45 pistol, two magazines loaded with 12 live ammunition, one fake PDEA ID, one fake PDEA badge, one mobile phone and cash amounting to P1,138 in different denominations.
Galapin will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
