MANILA, Philippines — Deaths related to COVID-19 increased to 25,192 on Monday after the Department of Health (DOH) logged an additional 43 fatalities.

The number of deaths accounts for 1.75% of all infections in the country, which is currently at 1,441,746, according to the DOH’s daily case bulletin.

The DOH reported 5,392 new infections, bringing the active case tally to 51,594.

It also logged 6,477 new recoveries, bringing the total of recoveries to 1,364,960.

DOH said it removed 15 duplicates from the total case count, including nine recoveries.

The health department also reclassified as deaths 20 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries.
