BACOLOD CITY—The matriarch of the family that owns the biggest bus company in the country has denied rumors that she had passed away.

“I’m not dead, I am very much alive and healthy,” said Olivia Yanson of the Yanson Group Bus of Companies on Sunday, July 4.

“Tell those people who want me dead, I love the Lord, and He will not let me die because I still have a mission in this world to help others,” she added.

Yanson, 87, said she lives in Makati City, and doctors told her that she is healthy.

“Tell the people of Bacolod I feel healthy, I am taking care of myself. I am strong,” Yanson said.

She said she was staying in Makati for now because there are lots of COVID-19 cases in Bacolod.
